Ileena Mitra is a scientist with experience in leading large-scale population genomic studies. Ileena is passionate about developing and applying quantitative genetics methods to understand complex human traits, specifically with a focus on neuropsychiatric disorders. Her research has received merit-based awards, been featured at international conferences, and been published in top tier journals.
Ileena received a B.S. with Honors in Bioengineering from the University of California Santa Cruz and her Ph.D. in Bioinformatics at the University of California San Diego with Professor Melissa Gymrek.
When not at the computer, Ileena likes to enjoy camping, outdoor photography, and playing with her dog, Rosie.
